Deptherapy stand at NEC dive show
For anyone who has never heard of it, Deptherapy is an amazing UK based small charity which works with service men and woman from both the UK and US armed forces injured in the course of their duties, be that on operations or from supposedly safer day to day life.
Everyone knows how great it is to be in the water diving. You know the story, you feel amazing having had that fantastic dive on a wreck or reef you've been after doing for, well forever. Now try to imagine how it might feel for that to be taken away from you because you had to have one or both your legs amputated?
Now try to imagine how it might feel to be confined to a wheel chair or had to learn to walk again with prosthetic legs?
Now try to imagine the freedom you'd feel again by getting back into the water, well through a specially designed program this is exactly what the Deptherapy foundation aim to give our service men and woman, that same feeling we take for granted every time we go diving, freedom.
Freedom from everything, but for our service men and woman, it's so much more, it's freedom, for a short time at least, from the physical injury, and indirectly just by way of being in the water relief from the mental injuries too, and it's the mental injuries that are most easily and most often forgotten about.
We all know how amazing diving is, why else would we do it? We all know how it can change lives, which is why Deptherapy is so important to our service men and woman. One veteran the charity has helped had a phone in one hand and a gun in the other! The charity got him in the water and help with his recovery.
Deptherapy will be at the dive show all weekend this weekend on stand 1310, so if you're passing and can spare 5 minutes, we'd love it if you could stop and have a natter, and if you could spare a few shekels, well that would be really cool.

Me n hubby will be there (trying to sneak the lads away for a quick pint, if they're allowed that is)
Don't worry about Richard, what he doesn't know about won't hurt him, I can always run interference too
