Do medical staff shower, change and disinfect before work (at the hospital)? If so I guess whatever shit they live in makes no odds (pathogens aside).

I will think about medical students in the shower for the rest of the day........

How people behave in public can be somewhat different to their private behaviours - for instance in public Nigel Farage comes over as an arsehole and a racist bigot but in private he isn't so nice. Allegedly.
My Brother bought his previous house from a Doctor; first job was getting the house fumigated to kill the flea infestation, followed by cleaning everything with a steam cleaner.
Apparently the shower screen was not actually opaque, and the walls changed colour in a couple of rooms.

One of my pet hates. Shower curtains, especially the clingy ones in hotels. Rubbing up against other people’s detritus is not my idea of fun. We have glass doors on all of our shower cubicles.

Helped my brother decamp his daughter (studying medicine) from her college room for Easter. He thought it was a mess, I thought it looked like a students place. Only really went to have a look around the college.

I would imagine most houses, regardless how clean, are just as filled with pathogens and contaminants. I've seen the inside of a lot of labs, clean rooms and decontamination facilities over the years and the average house is a fleapit once you know what you are looking at.

    Could have phrased that better.

I'd go further and say all houses rather than most. The design of houses is wrong, the materials used are wrong, the cleaning regimes are wrong, ventilation and filtration is typically low to zero... however, it is important to spend your money buying an expensive, super fabric washing detergent to kill 99.9% of all bacteria on your bed sheets at home, just in case you sleep in your birthday suit and your backside comes into contact with something that has bacteria on it!!! (now there's a horrific mental image for you!)
The views expressed are my own, worth what you've paid for them, are not on behalf of anyone else and not those of any company I worked for etc.

The minute you flush the bog (especially if you do it with the lid up) then all the cleanliness in the world won't do you any good. You've just stood next to a shit grenade being detonated (to paraphrase the immortal Jim Lahey).

Nice! Another lovely mental image! We had dogs, and hygiene and dogs is mutually exclusive!
