    Paul.
If God had meant us to breathe underwater, he would have given us larger bank balances.
Human beings were invented by water as a means of moving itself from one place to another.

Things I hate ... skips that don't let you put in most of the things you are trying to get rid of. What's the point of them then ? (*)

(*) fair enough this is the point of putting that stuff in someone else's skip around the corner after dark

    Scuba magazine.

Pretty fish pictures, club promotional stuff etc. Not my cup of tea, but I get it. No beef here.

    But the Taking Control feature?

For those who haven't read, a diver goes on a dive where they really really needed to come up the shot line. They clip off a reel and let it spool out. They had a mare getting the line back on the reel and ran low on gas.

Sarah Connor responds with "there there poppet, try the wreck appreciation SDC, that'll teach you to lay line".

Nothing about proper gas planning using rule of thirds. No suggestion to ask the club DO to get a session organised to teach line laying.

The value that BSAC adds is the fact that it's a club. There are people within the wider BSAC club who do gnarly wreck and cave diving, even if the branch doesn't. Why not draw on that corporate resource and run a workshop. Super cheap, no drama, JFDI.

Every month, the same story. Had a shitty dive that could have been avoided through proper education/awareness, planning and training? Buy this SDC!

    Etc.
I think a lot of people would agree with this.

As well as telling us, I hope you've told Simon the editor? The more people write to him the more he's likely to do something about it.
