This has been hovering in the background for a couple of weeks, no need to panic buy though; it`s only about 15% of the UK`s fuel production.
They pump something of the order of 2billion litres of jet fuel a year direct to Manchester airport in a dedicated pipeline.

It would probably be racist to point out another Indian owned, UK company, making extensive use of the tax payer trough, being somewhat "lacking" in it`s financial abilities.

Borris announced "He didn`t believe" there would be a food shortage for Christmas, and there was no need for panic buying fuel.

81litres of diesel in the van, 40 litres of petrol in the car, frozen goose in the freezer.
Van was empty, I always tank from empty, car is needed for a trip to Warwickshire on Monday.
Goose is because I don`t trust a word they say.

The petrol stations that are limiting drivers to a maximum purchase of 30 have got it the wrong way round. The way to stop the panic buying is to set a MINIMUM limit of 30 - buy less than that and you still pay 30. That would stop the queues of people putting in small amounts and clogging everthinh up.

Balls ... the blanking plug for my heated vest fell off today as I climbed back onto a rhib.

Anyone had any success in finding a way to tie them on?

Just occurred to me that it would also penalise people who are scraping by.

Otherwise, I think it wold be a good idea.

I suspect for the vast majority of people who can afford to dive the economic shambles we're going through is just an inconvenience. It makes me incredibly sad for the huge chunk of society that can't afford to pay inflated fuel prices but can't afford to miss work. Won't be able to afford to put the heating on in the coming months. Can't just buy the more expensive brands because your budget brand is out of stock. It makes me equally sad that we have next to no concern for an entire section of our own population. And the threshold for being in the bottom end of the population is moving up every single day, it gets harder to maintain the illusion that it will never be you. Because there's a good chance it will be.

The arseholes that voted in this government based on an agenda that pandered to the worst elements of society really need to think long and hard about themselves. Destabilising an entire country under the pretence of "patriotism".

I like that idea except I ride a motorbike and the tank won't take that much fuel. But the principle it good.

I can not remember the last time I put less than 30 of fuel in a vehicle, Big van is usually 90~100+, little van 50, car usually 50~60.
Depending on the vehicle, its once a month, or once a week.
