    Maldives Kuramathi video

    Hi,
we had a family holiday in the Maldives recently, and I managed to get some nice dives in. Here's a short clip:

The hammerhead was at 30m and it was 6 a.m., so more like a night dive. The blue plankton looked cool. Filmed on Pana GH2 (hacked), with bit of white translucent plastic detergent bottle as an "expodisc" white balance filter.
    Cheers,
    Matt

    Lovely!

I had no idea that those rays could flick their noses (1 min 6 secs in)

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.
Sjwhite - yes, it was the x-files theme. In the dark with the blue plankton there was a kind of alien feel to that dive, and the image quality of the hammer isn't much better than that footage you see of flying saucers at the beginning of the x-files! I'm using a (hacked) Panasonic GH2 in a 10 Bar housing. The housing is a bit clunky to be honest, but it was about a thousand quid cheaper than even a secondhand Nauticam. 10 Bar housings do have one major plus from a technical point of view, which is that you can see the o-rings on the rear plate, and those are the o-rings the user needs to maintain.

    Cheers,
    Matt
