A couple of years ago Ashbourne Sub Aqua Club launched a web site for divers to help them gather the information that they need when organising dive trips around the UK and Eire. The web site details as many of the dive charters, air stations, recompression chambers, launch and mooring points, tourist information offices etc. as we can find.

A later development was the inclusion of dive clubs - all agencies are included where I have sufficient information. If you want your club to be included then drop me a line with the following details - club name, contact details (email / website / facebook) where and when you meet (including postcode please), any restrictions to membership, which agency you run under (can be more than one).

If there are other businesses / organisations such as diver friendly bunk houses, B&Bs, launch points etc. that you use with please let us know - the more information there is for an area the better for everyone. These can be added through the website on the right hand side of the home page (Add Missing Entry) or via info@planyourdivetrip.co.uk.

As always any errors / omissions please let me know - I am still short of accommodation that is diver friendly (this can include camp sites, bunkhouses, B&B, hotels etc) so please pass the details on.

If you have any comments about the web site and how it can be improved then please let us know - we want this web site to be the first place people go to when they are planning a dive trip.

Well, the review request for all organisations listed (that have an email address at least) has been sent out. If you are listed and haven't received an email that means I don't have your current email address - this could be as simple as a typo on my part or because you have had a change of personnel / email address - if this is the case please drop me a line at admin@planyourdivetrip.co.uk and I will update your details on the system.

As I may have mentioned we are always after updates to organisations that should be added to, or removed from, the list so that it is as current as possible.

The annualish email to the people on the list is going out in the next week or so, so don't be surprised if you get an email if you are on the site. If there are any details the are wrong and need updating then let me know.

If your club / shop / dive boat are not on the site - www.planyourdivetrip.co.uk - then please let me know on admin@planyourdivetrip.co.uk together with contact details and stuff (name, address, phone number, postcode, web site URL, email address, services offered etc).

One thing that I feel short of is launch points in East Anglia. If there are any not listed that should be there please let me know and if possible let me have GPS co-ordinates. The same supplies nationally really.

I don't make any money from the site and any monies raised will go to the dive club (Ashbourne Divers) I am with to help support training of younger members.

OK, after many years (about 12 years) of being available courtesy of a company hosting the website for free I have just found out that the server is being shut down soon so the website will be going off line. I am trying to extract a final cut of the data so that if someone wants to pick up the baton then I can give them a head start, albeit with out of date information. If you access the website through the address 232bar.co.uk that will be pointing to an empty space.
