Just back from 24 hours in Essex - surprisingly enjoyable! Mapped some intertidal seagrass at Shoebury in the fog, then paddled around in a tidepool full of solar powered slugs and porcelain crabs. Pictures to follow!

Today I dived in 12C water for an hour in a very buggered 5mm wetsuit with big holes around the bum - I feel very old now.

I did an hour of snorkelling in a knackered 3mm suit on Sunday which was maybe a bit ambitious. I was forced to go to the chippy afterwards to replenish lost calories.

There were two girls in bikinis at the same spot wild swimming. Apparently that's swimming but on Instagram.

Did the view justify an hour in the water?

This week, I had a brunch meal of Eggs Benedict, in a Chinese restaurant, in a foreign country (Wales.) How cosmopolitan is that.

I thought for a moment that you were talking about the view of Dawns wetsuit with the bum holes.

I'm not retired and been a member since 2018.

I used to be a Historic Scotland member when I worked in Edinburgh. 40 quid a year and you got free parking on the castle esplanade. Saved me about a grand in parking fees Shame they cottoned on to it.
