I've managed to get through day one out of four of the long weekend without participating in any royal-worshipping bullshit.

I fitted 4 jubilee clips to some hose. Does that count?

Better than him finding a younger woman.

I did find myself looking for upside down flags, although I doubt the police would be interested.

I avoid the situation entirely by leaving out the unnecessary extra red and white crosses. A saltire is much easier to fly correctly.

Not joining in the madness. I will allow those who made their bunting out of wool or cotton fabric a small pass so long as they don't insist on me joining them. Those who are covering the country in plastic flags and balloons had better clear up after themselves - we saw at least one stray pink balloon on the road yesterday and dodgily positioned flags - when that balloon and all the others pop and the plastic flags disintergrate I hope everyone thinks of the wildlife they may have damaged. Worried me but had a lovely day in the countryside otherwise!
