Famous last words. Cough Friday eve, felt grotty yesterday, -ve result. Positives today. Arse, had a lot of things to do with people.

Two jabs yesterday, Covid and flu.

Felt fine yesterday evening, not so good today.

I felt fine yesterday and not so good today. I think it is the Southern Comfort though, not covid.

Not only is my new log burner keeping my house warmer with less fuel but I am also saving money today by having a big pot of stew simmering on top of it.

I only had a pint of Waggle Dance last night. I know I've recently become allergic to bee stings, but if this is connected to the beer, it'll be a real tragedy.

I am now wondering about the best way to bake bread in it.

Ours burns at 400C, what manner of bread do you think you're going to get?

You can do bread in a Dutch oven in or on a stove.

I've fired earthenware ceramics in mine. I bet it's still softer than the crust on a loaf done in it

                      Dwarf bread.
(purely for self defence, of course)

Bread ovens tend to be adjacent to the flue (was investigating a really old one the other day)

It seems quite controllable. I am sure I can get it down low enough.

Mine is an inset, I can't get to the flue. There is a 100mm ledge sticking out though which is enough to get my fish kettle on. Hence the stew yesterday which cooked perfectly.
I have also cooked chestnuts in the stove using an old SS colander.

Needing to upgrade my short stepladder for a bit of DIY I notice...
People selling telescopic ladders shouldn't describe them as 'Collapsible'.
                                Wrong vibe.
