As far from the sea as we could be, except when we can actually get in it.

Had a great day at the Boot dive show in Dusseldorf today, really wish the UK could get its act together and have shows this good in the UK!!

I spent the weekend at NDAC doing a combined Twinset and Accelerated Deco course.

    Great fun but tiring.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

I spent the weekend trying to get into the mood for validating 400+ Scottish Seasearch forms - no fun at all and I really really want to kill several people now.

So a fairly normal weekend then.

I had a lazy weekend, and by 10am Monday, want to throttle several people.
So pretty normal for me as well.

How does the twinset course work? Are twinsets provided or is it decreed which of the vast assortment of twinset configurations seen within the BSAC realm you should turn up with?

I took my own. The other student borrowed one from the instructor (actually from another club member).

You can do it with a set of twin independents or any of the vast assortment of cobbled together rigs.

Just don't even think about the idea of using a hog loop - this apparently is incredibly dangerous and you will die on every dive.
(although apparently, some instructors are allowed to teach it hog looped)

Most of my club seem to regard independent twins with a long hose bungeed to the cylinder to be the one true way, I think I shall wind up going elsewhere to do a twinset course.

Is there any way of "mechanising it" it and you have to go in to verify rather than input - to make sure that you don't get more than 3 coelacanths in the menai straits in one weekend?
