    Thanks

Forgot to say, just avoided putting hand on an adder when I was trying to stand up after initial crack.

It's not a proper accident unless you frightened the adder into doing a poo and put your hand in that.

Awesome. I’ll try to remember that

The daughter of a friend was bitten on the thigh by an adder (she sat on it by mistake and it reacted).

Had a bad reaction, leg was swollen and was in a for quite a while. Put a damper on the family holiday.

    Ankle swelling.

    Hobbled to village.

Still no phone signal and pub closed for renovation FFS.

    Left dog.

    Spent late afternoon in A&E

X-ray shows cracked tibia close to ankle. Leg now in equaliser boot.

Well, no more walks for a while.
At least you have the NHS at your beck and call now.

I had my first sports massage yesterday. Walking up stairs afterwards was quite an experience.

Is that what they're calling it these days?

Went for a dive less than hour from home and very popular spot, so put wetsuit on before leaving house. Couldn't shake feeling something was missing from car. Came back from dive, removed suit and swimming costume, no clothes! Luckily had lovely changing poncho for birthday, drove home down the A12 in that.

I also brought back samples of a fascinationg mobile organised jelly from the temporary lagoon. Turns out it's a kind of dinoflagellate that contains one of the most powerful toxins known (hopefully not this exact species)

Spending a week on Isle of Portland, today as the weather was good went to Portland Bill. Weymouth lifeboat went out on a shout fairly fast and came back doing the tow of shame for a very small motor cruiser. If it came from Weymouth they were bloody brave to go around past the lighthouse as the race was seriously running today. The boat was recovered somewhere to the west of Portland. Skin Deeper was also out with a load of divers somewhere west of Portland as well.
