However today it all come together.
I walk into the Mewes and have a bird on my glove at once.
She steps on and off the scales like a professional.
Does the 'sitting on glove looking bored' while I sort out the lines.
Then seven flights, half the days rations, without any hesitation or a deviation into the hedge or over the wall.
Towards the end I just put out my arm without facing her and she landed on my glove - this is important to recovering her when free flying.

Waterboarding at Guantanamo Bay sounded like a radical holiday opportunity until I looked it up.
I took my dog to work yesterday. She was very excited to meet a bunch of new people as she loves people. And the students in the lecture that I teach on Wednesdays were smitten and said it was the best class ever. And then she passed out cold as soon as we walked in the house.
We used to leave our lurcher at a house with 3 children when we went to work. She didn't get lots of exercise, but the effort of being awake with people all day used to completely exhaust her We now use 'awake dog' to describe how I feel after doing anything that involves talking to people all day.And then she passed out cold as soon as we walked in the house.
