Ouch! Will you be laid up for long?
    Paul.
If God had meant us to breathe underwater, he would have given us larger bank balances.

Was told I should be able to cycle within about 3 weeks run within 8-10 weeks.

Memo to self ... never watch youtube videos of an operation before you go for one!

You don't learn. It was all that exercise that put you in trouble in the first place.

That sounds more exotic than my bookings so far: Stoney Cove in December, Plymouth in August, and Scapa in October.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Also will have some UK diving in between, starting with Wraysbury on New Year's Day!

As far from the sea as we could be, except when we can actually get in it.

The chewing thing with teeth And suction is the best. I always wanted a play with that. Never got the chance. But good news really a definite problem and solution.
Evolution is great at solving problems. It's the methods that concern me.

I always knew what was wrong. Back in June I told them it was a tendon problem. All the experts were adamant that it was cartilage. I have hurt myself enough to know what the different pains are: bone, muscle, tendons, ligaments. This was a definite tendon pain. The surgeon agreed with me. He is only doing the ITB release now as he has to cut me anyway. It is not something I partucularly want and even he was saying it isnt nice.

The meniscus, I knew it wasnt any of the above so I knew it had to be cartilage. This one only happened 5 weeks ago so by time I had an MRI and made an appointment to see the consultant (which I saw today) it was always going to be a cutting gig.

As you say, at least I have a plan now
