    German Wreck Archives

Does anyone have any specialist knowledge of German wreck archives?

I'm looking for what would have been West Germany which means hopefully a better chance of survival, as I am looking at the wreck of a West German registered ship, and know that if it had been registered in the UK, there would have been a Board of Trade Enquiry. Would there be a similar thing for Germany? I've done some basic Google searches, but given the department would have changed name a few times probably, thought I would try and shortcut and ask the question!

It may be worth you contacting Kevin Heath in Orkney as he does an immense amount of research into wrecks with contacts in Germany.
I trust my rebreather implicitly I just don't trust the owner

    Onwards & downwards.

Thanks! I found the Deutsches Schifffahrtsmuseum in Bremen who have a lot of archives and exhibits and they have been pretty useful, signposted me to a few more places to try, but will try Kevin if I get stuck!
