What kind of diving do you like to do - deep wrecks, scenic stuff, wildlife?
Definitely don't doubt Dawn - not if you value your life
Do you plan to bring any kit over with you?
I don't care about the kind of dive. But it should be more like a check dive. I usually dive double tanks and stages. But simpler dives are enough for me here.
I would bring regulator, fins, goggles and wetsuit. Jacket/wing and bottle I should be able to borrow somewhere.
Nearest venue to London is probably Brighton - there is a train service or about an hour from south London if you are in the car. As an individual diver you need to look at a dive centre that will accept bookings from one person. I cannot find anything on the internet (sorry) that weekend looks busy with fishing trips.
Try Newhaven Scuba https://scubadiving-brighton.co.uk/ They are nearby at Newhaven (also a train service there) but their calendar is not working so you would need to email them.
If you are able to travel further there will be more choice. West is best (sorry - that sounds better in German....) The traffic in south east England can be a problem.
There are only two things that are infinite, the universe and Tory corruption and I am not sure about the universe.
With apologies to Albert Einstein.
