Great days diving out of Eastbourne on Thursday.
Visiting two archaeological sites courtesy of NAS branch and Dive125.
Kleine Hollandia sunk in 1672 during 3rd dutch wars. Whilst escorting a merchant convoy. Over 30 Canons, 7 bright blue bronze canons, marble blocks and tiles, broken crockery, anchor, yellow brick kitchen patio, copper cauldron, rolled lead, wooden stucture, lots to see. Vis was excellant over 5m and bright, shoals of fish, conger, lobster, littered with scallops. Spectacular octopus free swimming about. Sunny but breezey, 32m small current.
Wapen Von Utrecht sunk in 1690 during battle of Beachy head. Over 50 huge iron canons, ballast pile reef, anchor, kitchen bricks. Site has a rope trail laid so easy to navigate. Conger plus all the usual suspects. Vis about 2 plus meters and not so bright. 12m.
Diving today with Mark Beatey Edwards and Sarah Hasan of the NAS plus other members of their affiated BSAC branch. Mark continuing his photogrametry survey on the KH. Skipper Dave Ronnan on "Our W".
I'm diving with 3 of our branch Thurrock Aqualung Club, BSAC 608.
Absolutely epic day!
