Question Covid tests for the 'vulnerable'?

I had an email a couple of weeks ago saying the government would be sending me some free covid tests because of my 'vulnerable conditions' - this read so much like a scam post that I ignored it. A box of tests arrived this morning. I mentioned it at the doctors and they'd not heard anything about it - nothing in my notes and no other patients had mentioned it. Has anyone else received any? AFAIK, none of my inbreeding-caused weirdnesses leave me vulnerable to Covid.

I've also received a box of tests. Not sure whether it is my age (75) or that I have been diagnosed with very early stage prostate cancer.

My wife had the same thing and a box of tests turned up. Checked with our GP practice and they had no idea why. She is under 75!

I received a box. I take meds that mess with my immune system so am classed as clinically extremely vulnerable. I'm pretty much the only one wearing a mask in the supermarket these days. I know loads of people who are struggling to get over their latest encounter with Covid. Gov wants us to forget about it, the annuity actuaries are happy.

'liking' any of these seems like poor form, but thanks!

I still do. I figure that people who are vulnerable have got to eat and so have got to go to the shop to buy food. I don't bother for other shops where you have a choice, like a bike shop for example.

We had a customer that was off work for a week with covid quite recently. Yes, it is still out there and being a nuisance. No, most people don't give a shit.

Bit cynical here but the shelf life of these tests will not be forever so little point in government hanging on to them. The one remaining I have is in a box expiring in December. So in part good housekeeping , get them out there where the can be of some limited use, at least to ward of questions in the House!

How cynical you are. I am by no means saying that what you have said is anything other than accurate - and I know I am cynical.

I think these latest ones probably have the microchips embedded in them.
