    Instructor trainer training at BSAC

Just out of general curiosity how much of a step-up is it from instructor to instructor trainer?

Are we talking a month or so of personal investment and you're good or more like a year of dedicated hard work beyond what a lot of people could reasonably manage?

It's a 2 day course then being mentored across a range of events (IFC, OWIC, PIE, TIE) to bring you up to speed. Then you're let loose, getting feedback from the course boss on your performance in a detailed debrief on every event.

Your instructing needs to be good before you rock up to the ITDC so get some practice in!

I have nothing to do with BSAC any more apart from being a muggle member. So anything I write on here is likely to be complete bollocks. Hooray!

Thanks. So it sounds like "not necessarily a huge deal" would be a good description, is that right?

About what they said. Do AI, then the Instructor Trainer Development Course, then work on events under supervision and get signed off when you are up to speed. A bit of work but quite good fun.

    Paul.
If God had meant us to breathe underwater, he would have given us larger bank balances.
Human beings were invented by water as a means of moving itself from one place to another.
