Could anyone kindly explain to me how to navigate/decipher the Logbook on a Vyper MK1

I got an old vyper that i used years ago as a back up.
I passed it on to my son as its adequate for what he does.
It appears to work fine. Shows the same depth and time, similar enough deco info as my and my other sons computer.
But I'm trying help him log the dives and I cant make heads of tails of anything that is displayed once i enter the logbook mode.
I have consulted that manual and the video suunto put on youtube to no avail.

The manual's here and in my experience, this is the best page to use: link.

It's a long time since I used mine, but I remember that when I finally twigged how to use a Vyper I visualised the menus as circular. It's so much easier to show than explain, so I wish you luck. As soon as you get it it'll be a doddle.
Happy to be a woke* feminist SJ(K)W snowflake in a godless universe, no matter what some experts think. And Braun was a twat who's not missed. At all.

    * Had to add woke; couldn't resist.

Get the cable for it and use Subsurface to download and log the dives?

I think this is the stock answer for most dive computers - get them off the dive computer and into decent software and it will make it infinitely more useful.

It’s the £60 to get the cable from Suunto that put me off. For me and a 15 year old zoop it did not make sense.

I think I have ended up with a USB Suunto cable for the original Vyper when I got a load of bits, if someone is interested I will dig it out to confirm what cable it is and then will be happy to take about £25 including UK delivery
