    Aqua lung legend spares

On a recent visit to the Red Sea some numpty managed to break my second stage and didn't tell me. Found out when I took my first breath in the water and sucked in loads of water. It looks like it's been hit with a tank as the main body and front cover are broken where they join.
I've emailed Aqua lung to see if they can supply the parts i need but have heard nothing back. My local shop has phoned them and emailed them but they're not responding to him either.
Does anyone know if there is an aqua lung stockest in the UK that holds spares.

Aqualung and Apeks are the same company (for the last 30 years or so) and Apeks UK do Aqualung spares and service (you can send them in the post, their prices always were pretty competitive and you can be 100% certain its been done right) - I would give them a call in Blackburn, they have always been really helpful when I have spoken to them. If its a really old set you may be out of luck though - I think some bits are now unobtainable, I couldn't get a fascia for one old 2nd stage when it broke

The number I have for them is 01254 692200 - that gets the switchboard

Alternatively, have a ring around scuba techs - they tend to keep bits from defunct regs "just in case" and you might strike lucky

The current sales service from APEX has been nothing short of aweful according to a number of shops that I have spoken to in different countries. Customer services has moved to France and tanked
If my post doesnt have a typo, then I have probably been hacked!

The uk number for Blackburn just diverts to France and they never answer the phone. In the past I dealt with Blackburn for a bcd problem and they were great, but now they are only involved with the military side of things.

Another company that thinks changing the colours and hiking the price is innovation. Apeks is not what it used to be, at least not on the recreational side.

Seemingly shops can be waiting MONTHS, as in 6 months, for orders to be filled, part orders get shipped at times and other times whole orders are withheld until the final bits are available months and months later. Service centres cannot get access to stable supplies of service kits etc etc.
Seemingly before the relocation, shops could ring up, speak to someone that knew their products inside out and get advice that allowed them to better serve their customers. Now they are asked for a product code and quantity - anything beyond that, I am told that the call centre staff know nothing.

This is not just the experience of 1 shop but several shops across Europe that I have spoken to about it

I'd heard that from one of my local shops as well. I use Apeks regs but I service my own so not really affected me, it came up because I'd been asking about Apeks manifolds and they weren't overly impressed by sales and support they were getting from Aqua Lung.

You just need to look at the overpriced shite on their website that they are slapping the Apeks logo on to get a feel for how Aqua Lung are milking the Apeks brand. Like I said, not the company they used to be.

That's one of the other problems, I know the part numbers from an old parts catalogue but apparently when they relocated to France they changed all the part numbers.
The way they are operating at the moment has all the hallmarks of a company that won't be around for long.

If you know the part numbers and you know someone in the EU who can forward stuff (or want to pay for a forwarding service) then try here. There are exploded diagrams with part numbers and most stuff is in stock. They are good for spares, I've used them for Draeger parts, but sadly they no longer ship to the UK because of Brexit (which seems a bit shit as they ship to other non-EU countries inc. the US). They aren't cheap though.

I've also bought Apeks spares from atemreglerprofi on German Ebay. He speaks English so might be worth contacting.

Even when you do get service kits, the prices are gone mental too. I bought 5 x 1st stage and 5 x 2nd stage about 18 months ago €110 incl postage. Same number of kits was €250 2 weeks ago. Okay I got the cheaper set on a clearance as they were stopping their Apeks line but when I first started servicing my own gear about 8 years ago I was paying €20 for 1st stage and €13 for 2nd stsge kits. They are up 50% on that since then. Even Scubagaskets kits are not cheap anymore
