    JJ costs

Does anyone know what should be looking at paying for dive can JJ?

Seem to be rare at the moment for sale (almost ccr units seem to be).

The market was awash with 2nd had JJs around Xmas for some reason. They seem to hold value pretty well compared to some of the other units on the market. In fact, I have seen some used units with prices that were higher than new ex-VAT in Malta. Expect to pay £4500 for an analog and maybe up to £6500 for newish dive can

      Geez, £6500 for a JJ

Why? Take an inspo, throw away the tempstik, add a well-marketed (but average) set of electronics, and you then you have a JJ!

I've seen a few inspos selling for half that and they have a solenoid and a set-point controller and generally work.

You do know that a JJ is an eCCR with set point control and solenoid don't you? Or have I missed something.

I agree that the used prices for JJs are often insane. It is 1 of the reasons I went for new. Someone wanted €5k for a 3rd hand analogue unit and seemed genuinely offended that I didn't want it

You can drive in a Skoda or Porsche … ultimately they do the same job. Just the Porsche (like the jj) has a better profile

            Meh! Who cares about fashion?

£6.5k would buy a 2nd hand inspo with full AP service, gbox, bp & oph, plumbed in ostc cr, and still have spare cash for a few cases of beer

Yes yes you could try and turn it into a jj but you will have to get it serviced every 6mo abs it’s gone for 4 weeks at a time 😈

are we taking AP or Poseidon here? If it’s AP mine rarely goes back and when it has the service has been excellent.

I can't see why I'd want to make it anything different to what it is as it works pretty well.

I've no idea where the 6 months idea comes from as it just keeps working and I send it away every few years, in their quieter time, and it's normally been back within a week or two.

Probably get an AP and spend double the difference sending it back for repairs
