We're going to run a series of evening talks in May, the first we've settled is:
Beginner's guide to Scottish seaweeds via Zoom on the 18th of May in the evening - time and length tbc! Free to attend because we're lovely, watch this space for more details!
You may say to yourself 'What use is this to me? I live in East Anglia' This is true, but I know a lot of you can't tell a seaweed from a bryozoan and also that you occasionally move around the country. Also it's free. More talks to follow when we've settled the dates!
    Will the talk include foraging?

We give 350m a week to the EU. Let's give it to Dido Harding instead.

Sorry no, this is strictly ID. You can eat almost everything though, just not near a sewage outfall

    On cue.
That explains the several bandwagon jumpers who now think they can farm kelp in the southern North Sea.

Hi divemouse, i'm very interested could you post the link once it's up on youtube because I'm almost guaranteed to forget on the day.
Will go beyond the usual though?
Laminaria, Saccohriza, Alaria, Saccharina, Ulva, Enteromorpha, Palmaria, chondrus, Porhyra, Chorda, Himanthalia, Pelvetia, and the various common Fucoids.
(yes the list is pretentious but there's just too many common names for the same thing... even the scientifc names keep changing thanks to the beancounters and/or big egos)

I think you've pretty much got it covered apart from a few common reds - Delessaria, Phycodrys, Plocamium, Ceramium etc - it's difficult to know what to leave in without overwhelming people.
