i assume you have taken it apart, how do you replace the battery?
Pop out the black plastic bits either side of the screen
Evenly undo the torx screws around the screen
Gently and evenly prise off the screen
Pull ribbon cable out of the main board
Remove the 2 screws on the bracket over the pressure sensor
Gently lift out the board
Desolder the battery
Solder in a new better of the same physical size
Put it back together
Or if you have one that’s dead sell it to me :’)
Bump.
OK finally got the right torx bit and got it apart, when i actually did it took less than 10mins.
My batteries are two lipo - jz1007 3.7v, +443443p 610. One has ballooned like a pillow.
Richard suggested a lipo battery 453438 before i go ahead and buy these batteries and a new thinner soldering iron to put it back together can someone tell me what the difference in the batteries might be.
I would like to do this only once so don't mind paying for good quality batteries. TIA
The difference in the batteries is just the size.
Mine is back together now with a new screen out a vr3 and working like new.
The numbers on the battery 453438 mean 45 by 34 and 3.8 mm thick. Slightly smaller than the factory fitted battery but I did 3 hours of dives and lost maybe 20%
So long as the voltage is the same and they fit the computer it does not seem to care.
When you get it back together be careful with the 2 little orings under the pressure sensor aswell as the one for the screen.
Also be very careful with the screen Ribbon cable they break off at the connecter to the main board very easily just a few bends seems to ruin them. I have had two screens break in the same place now
I got my batteries off eBay 3 of them for 12 quid or something like that.
