Read this book.... Aquanaut by Rick Stanton

Looking for a book to read then the Rick Stanton narrative of his dive adventures, rescues and a certain trip to Thailand makes for an excellent read.

Excellent book from an excellent bloke!

Also another one by his colleague - "Thirteen lives" by John Volanthen. Quite a different book but both very good reading.

Just started this one, courtesy of a Christmas Gift - yes, it's different; emphasis seems to be more on general self-help (not as cringe as it sounds) than the technicalities. Haven't found any mention of Elon and his magic submarine yet.
I don't want to get technical or anything, but alcohol IS a solution

I really enjoyed both Rick Stanton and John Volanthen's books. It's clear that they're quite different guys :-)

I got Rick Ayrton's "Expedition Britannic" for xmas, looking forward to reading that too!

+1 for Rick Stanton's book, although John Volanthen's read more like he had swallowed a corporate management-speak guide before writing. Interesting, but harder to read!

I finally finished John Volanthen's book today......Yes the book comes over a bit like a management training manual, which in a way it is. By reading this book in small doses say a chapter at a time then this book is quite good.

I was lucky enough to see a preview of it at the cinema a few weeks before it was on Disney+

I'm about 2 chapters in to John Volanthen's book, then Rick's is the next on the reading list.
Proud to be a boring health and softy crap following sissie!
