    1st UK Quarry dive

Having not dived for awhile we decided a quarry dive would be worth a go so with the gear checked, time off work and accommodation sorted off we went.

We arrived at Capernwray during a spell of good weather and after an introduction to what and how everything works we donned our 7mm wetsuits and entered the very pleasant 18 degree water, the site is littered with objects place for the amusement of diver's however we didn't find those of any interest so we spent our time with those that live there, anyway enough waffling here's a few pic's.

Well done, you've managed to make quarry diving look a bit interesting! I'm off for a lie down in a percolation lagoon today, that's a bit less interesting.
Definitely don't doubt Dawn - not if you value your life

I took my 15yo son in the sea was his first dive in two years … I really can’t understand “we haven’t dived for a while so we went to a quarry … “

After looking at the shore diving options and reading of divers turning up at 5:30am to get a parking place then thinking about the possibility of the weather stopping play we opted for the quarry.

Poole in summer you need to be there before 7 for easy parking. Yesterday even in bright sunshine there was free parking spots on the beach all day - lovely dive too

Yes, I agree, but would not expect anything less from Mr Firefly.
    Paul.
If God had meant us to breathe underwater, he would have given us larger bank balances.
Human beings were invented by water as a means of moving itself from one place to another.

From 2005 when I was using a Canon G1 the first time I went to Capernray. I always thought it one of the best quarries for vis and life. This may be the same beastie he was only about 8 inches long then and I believe had not been there very long.

I also rate your head on shot. Always difficult to get them to cooperate!

Evolution is great at solving problems. It's the methods that concern me.
