As far from the sea as we could be, except when we can actually get in it.

I think I am going to have to strip it down. Might be crud.

Well, I'm interested because I like mechanical problems so I did a search for:-
2007 Transit handbrake not working on one side

....... maybe the answer you need in there somewhere?

    https://www.startpage.com/do/dsearch...tVersion=1.3.0

I joined a car forum for repairs to get info on mine (AUDI) and I still snigger ...... somewhere there was a VW/Audi/Golf site or VAG as they liked to call it. The members on the furum identified my problem and there was a video on YOUTUBE on how to fix it (replace the front wiper linkage).

There are bound to many Transit owners fora and somebody will have had the same problem before?

EDIT - I searched on YOUTUBE and there were some 'hits' but don't know if same as your Tranny.

Those results always point to broken/seized cable or seized piston. Neither are the problem here. Thanks anyway.

    Here you. The solution.

You may need up to eight if you go on a ferry.

The Doblo had a parking brick, but it also needed a passenger to leap out and deploy it on steep campsites.

Well, I have changed the pads, cables and flexible hoses. I still don't have a handbrake on that side and also the brakes are spongy. Bled them but no improvement. Don't know if it is anything to do with the handbrake problem.
Thought I would carry on with the project and change the front pads and flexible hoses, there could be air in the front half so I thought I would do these other jobs before re-bleeding.
Would you credit it, take off a front calliper and find a seized piston! At the moment I am leaving it overnight soaking in penetrating oil and hoping I will not have to result in the old blowtorch and new rubbers.
    I hate vans!
