RAW Photo's/images iMac

So I'm wondering have I bought a pup...

Bought a iMac to replace an old PC.
I do most of my U/W photography in RAW format.

With a PC(even Win10) RAW (RAF or ORF) images they display in thumbnails and viewer but on the Apple machine it doesn't show any images. Does anyone with experience of Apple machine have knowledge on what is wrong, please and can help me out, please?

Tried use 'SilkyPics' and even that doesn't want to know.

A friend had similar problems with their Olympus raw files and got round it by loading Olympus Workspace onto a flash drive (unable to download it directly) they were then able to view and edit their pictures from that.
