    As long as you understand when a bov may save you and when it definitely will not .

    Tel that to all the divers that have passed away swimming to the shot or back to the boat. Meney sporting bovs and huds. Still needs in put / action from the dive .

    Pretty much yeah.
    Probably takes me about the same time to sort out gag strap when getting kitted up than it does to put seat belt on in car.

    ABS is a bad comparison as it's a load of electronic bollox and sensors and stuff that can and does go wrong.

    What do you (as someone who doesn't use one because you don't like them, and presumably hasn't dived extensively with one) think the down sides are?
