Watch strap made from upcycled wetsuits

    Hello!

I wanted to get some divers' opinions on the best straps for dive watches?

Iím currently working on an exciting project to design a watch strap made from upcycled wetsuit materials (effectively recycling my old wetsuit to make a watch strap) and wanted to see if anyone had any tips or recommendations for this? Not sure if this has been done before but personally think itís a really cool idea (and great for the environment of course!).

When diving, what types of watch straps do people prefer? - rubber, steel? I know these things are usually personal preference (as with most diving stuff) but keen to get peoples thoughts on this!?

    Thanks!

    Sean

When diving, I wear a dive computer instead of a watch.
The dive computer straps I prefer are 4mm bungee cord.

Are you thinking of cutting a loop of wetsuit arm and threading it through the spring bars on the watch?
Or cutting a longer section and making a hole to house the watch?

    Insert popcorn emoji here.

So you're wanting to recycle your old wetsuit to make yourself a watch strap for some reason and in order to do that, you need to know what materials other people prefer for their watch straps?

And joined 2 different UK dive forums on the same day then waited 14 days before posting identical posts within 8 minutes?

Other forums are still around on the long road to obsolescence, some in the UK that aren't ad supported.

Technically, there are another 2, but YD seems to have been taken over by spam bots asking questions like "how do i find a good essay writing service?" and trying to sell bitcoin mining tools.

The other UK divers forum is quieter than here, but still relevant.

My favourite quote from the ScubaBoard version of this thread: "Don't use the neoprene from the crotch area!"
