Bid Brother IS watching you. Time to get a tinfoil hat ?

Some years ago I lived in Dubai and like everyone there with a car I had a Salik account for road toll fees. This was linked to my Dubai mobile tel number to receive balance check and toll deductions.

I left Dubai almost 5 years ago and obvioulsy got new local mobile number here. initially used the same handset. Subsequently that handset was damaged and replaced.

This week I received an SMS from Salik telling me that as I had not used the account for 59 months, any residual balance will be forfeit in 1 months time i.e. after 5 years of no activity.

This is all very efficient but how did they access my new phone number (issued after I left Dubai and it is a non-UAE sim) and link that to the Salik account ?

As I am not now using the same handset it cannot be the IMEI.

    Any ideas ?

They probably inserted a microchip into your body during an inoculation or other medical procedure.
Or perhaps they just asked Divemouse.

Read The age of Surveillance Capitalism by Shoshana Zuboff.

You have no privacy, by getting a mobile phone you have traded information about yourself for convenience, every mapped move on the internet is used to change your behaviour.

    Just be aware.

Did you use your new number on *any* UAE government interactions? They might just be a lot more integrated than the UK (if test & trace is anything to go by).

Any other applications that share the same email address that are linked? Huge number of Apps share information nowadays so I would suspect it was something like that.
