Big takeaway for me is that you dive with 2 tins and a drop bottle, we assumed we would need to be gas sufficient and carry something like bottom mix, 50% and o2.
As Paulo said, Barry may have spaces and you won't regret going.

The wrecks are big, the bottom time is limited, so Malin is best done with a scooter.

As a taster my last Malin trip was recorded here.

Those pictures are good. The wreck on its starboard side ...the diver with three bail outs ..looking at the anchor ....which has Lophelia on it!
I doubt that what the picture was about but did you see a lot of it (on you pictures)

On more prosaic matters it appears that the restrictions on gas transportation via the ferry is fairly restrictive, 6 bottles max per vehicle, which amounts to 3 bailouts, 1 dil, 1 o2 and a suit inflate.

So no options for additional dil bottles, banks, different bailout options.

Is there a work around, do people hire tanks out there, only take 1 dil bottle etc?

IV never came across someone counting cylinders when IV used the ferry . One year I had a van full of cylinders mine and and other divers kit and cylinders
And was flagged in for a quick look over .
No one seemed to be worried about the cylinders .

Can't remember the number but remember taking my transit van for a quick wieght check . Before we left.

Last time I went over it was two divers in a estate car . I had at 9 or 10 cylinder and buddy had much the same . Been several times never had a problem . Drive on park up. go get some food and a drink .

Stena didn’t seem at all bothered about number of cylinders, just don’t make it too obvious.
Avoid P&O if you are taking cylinders.
