Most interesting thing I saw was:-

Crete is fabulous but not for diving which is very much "look - a fish!!!!!". The Zenobia is certainly worth doing and there are other scenic dives but Cyprus is a pretty big place and I think you would struggle to fill a week from one location

I live near Larnaca, and I can assure you the Zenobia Queen still runs to the Zenobia wreck, and it's a lot more affordable than going through any dive centre.

    Cyprus

Look at Dive In. Very good, they run a RHIB service & are the SDITDI regional office.

Or Viking Divers. Both Larnaca based.

Iím out in Cyprus with work for 1-2 weeks every 12-18 months so have managed 10+ weeks on her. She is a great dive but depending on your quals you are limited to what you can see & where you can go.

There are also a few other smaller wrecks plus the tanker that was sunk last year.

Itís a few years old but hereís a taster:

As well as Zenobia, which is a great dive, there are also the Alexandri, HMS Cricket, the Nemesis, the Kerynia and last year they sank MV Elpida. The sea life, although not yet plentiful is slowly improving, despite an invasion of lionfish.

Open to correction but fairly sure they only do group bookings

No idea, I didn't book it and went with a (very small) group.

Is a nice dive but a week's worth it is not
And they have priced it to death .
Makes Scapa look like a bargain. And interesting as well.

Not to mention not requiring two weeks self imprisonment on return.

I used to work on Crete (diving) for a season (and came back from a 2 week break there last week). Beautiful island, spectacular scenery, fantastic food. I love the place. Love the place.

...BUT....It had easily the worst diving i've done anywhere in the world. Even by Greek standards its awful. Bare rock, if you're lucky some algae. Its quite possible there to do a dive and see no fish at all. If you're lucky enough and you do see one (assuming its not fed bread to keep it there by the centres), you cant tell the locals as it'll be spearfished that evening. The vis is fantastic though...

FWIW Zante is pretty similar but does have a few caverns and caves that make it a bit better. Slightly. For one dive.

The historic sites and areas that are there are off limits.

Cyprus has Zenobia but otherwise pretty much as above. The only place i'd pay to go diving in that region would be Malta.
