Gooists are rarely seen these days.

Or do you mean drinking clubs that sometimes do short dives before the pub opens?

Awww, and we were getting on so well.

The skipper's point was that the club trips brought severe grief because they wouldn’t adapt to the — hopefully temporary — brave new world of COVID diving, making demands that couldn’t be met.

Del Boy Johnson's announcement that we can’t enter a shop without PPE means that fear of COVID wins over the naissant easing of lockdown. We’ll be lucky to have any dive boats left.

Looking forwards to diving my chosen unit, even if it's not groupthink compliant.

Original topic: I chose, I bought, I booked training.

Didn't try other units as by definition I don't have the knowledge nor skills to do anything different, i.e. make up one's own mind and not be swayed by other people's opinions.

As AP were the first out there, they are everywhere, the support is superb and there are loads of instructors, plus a very active second hand market. Did a 2 week remote exped and they boxed up a complete spare head for me to take just in case and all for free.
Support is superb IF you have a plastic card...

Not convinced. I tried a Sentinel once. It took a long time to get it working before we got in and felt awful in the water. Off the options list straight away!
The views expressed are my own, worth what you've paid for them, are not on behalf of anyone else and not those of any company I work for etc.

Some people are so quick to judge, it was a Sentinel in the water working...of course it felt wrong!

Although I have always had a sick fetish of wanting to buy one for nostalgic purposes...

Mk15 is still on my "own one one day" list, one on ebay for 11k... so tempting but a multi beam sounder is winning that race i think.
