No matter how good the spiel around the scrubber monitoring is, I'd be particularly careful not to believe in it too much. Certainly in terms of when to change the scrubber.

I don't scrimp on scrubber changes at all. The temp-stick (the kind that knuckle dragging, seahorse trim, Christmas tree dangly, AP Inspo divers like me have) is most useful for me to show that the scrubber is acting as it should be. No channeling etc.

next week, having 3 shite ones is fine because you still have 2 good ones ... clown is a disaster waiting to happen.

Remind me, what is the current UK limit on crowds attending funerals?

It MIGHT be acceptable for a man with hundreds of hours to be able to mae a decision about ignoring / adapting to cell errors, but I dont understand how an instructor could allow a numpty on Mod 1 to believe that they were equipped with the skills to make those decisions

How do you propose doing voting logic with 2 cells?

He s running a hybrid set up .
Leaky valve and finger . voting logic in the back ground . As parashoot . By the time he ever gets to two he will be long gone.

Even on MCCR, voting logic is applied, except it is done in the head of the diver?

New cells do exist. I had a new AP cell only a few weeks ago (032020 batch). I can post a picture if doubt me.

5 crap cells is worse that 3 good cells. In fact 5 craps cells is worse than 2 good cells and not diving. I've seen the consequences of over-trusting unreliable cells and the outcome is not very nice. If you are not sure of your cells then don't dive.

    Yep
And he would be long gone before he got down to two.

The less fortunate of us would just have to pick one and fly baby home
Or just fuck with the po2 . Depending on the problem .
Or maybe bailout. probably only required if you tend to store all your duff cells in your rebreather lol

As it's a short weeks Noddy 1 course I'd think that qualifies the Noddy to bail out. Noddy 1 is not really big on having you thinking about fixing problem s .
Even if you do have 4 ok cells 1 duff and a nerd for some reason. At your disposal

Don't feeking ask me what I think of the temp stick remark and Savings a pound on lime each dive .

I used to love throwing money at my rebreather .
Mind I never spunked a sack full on the first date.
