Its also a constant light, so motion blur becomes more apparent (strobe light helps to freeze the motion)
Well I'm just thinking that on a go pro that taking photographs will probably be my secondary function, and in reality I can grab stills from moving footage. I would like to move on to stills with a DSLR eventually, but I'm on a budget to start and don't want to overload myself, so gopro and cheap tray/handle is the best start for me at the moment.

I forget its strobe for diving...... I'm so used to external flash heads in a studio

Worth a poke round their site.
here is what I used, from the flex-arm site, screwed onto the top of the handles - https://www.flex-arm.com/en/base-mou...-64-mm-60006bk (the images are huge, so here's the URL instead of pasting the image in here -https://www.flex-arm.com/image/cache/catalog/products/Componenti/base-tubo-flessibile-vite-m6-1-4-600x800.jpg

then a length of loc-line - I cannibalised several of these for the bits, which I got for 1 each from a bike shop !

    - I just wanted the sections, not the end pieces, but this was a cheap way to get them

and these mounts from flex-arm fit just about any light - https://www.flex-arm.com/image/cache...-1-600x800.jpg

and you can buy them with various lengths of loc-line already attached if needed - https://www.flex-arm.com/en/flexible...lights-adapter

not the most professional perhaps but quick, cheap, DIY and customisable

    I bought these

I've rinsed and greased the switch spring after each dive (it came with spares) but was happy with them for my amateur red sea night time efforts with a go pro

these seem to be the same thing

What are the futura lights mentioned in the other thread? I had a quick look on amazon and couldn't find them.

I've been eyeing up the suptig one that another poster mentions on there too, so I'd be interested to see how those are.

Underwater photography with a DSLR is possible out of your reach then.
Prices start at eye watering and head north; fast.
