I bought the RK3s, they were 3 times the cost of my previous, generic, unbranded pair of jet fins. I cannot tell of any difference in terms of weight or power
If my post doesnt have a typo, then I have probably been hacked!

I never mentioned the price nor weight, I just said I have a pair and I am happy with them.

Liked the look of the rk3s so bought a pair but found them far too light so they could be good for travel. I use a pair of plana Avanti quattros for travel which I believe are lighter again?

While I would never advocate using full foot fins for anything other than a liveaboard you can usually save over a kilo by using full foot fins and a pair of socks over the same fins in strap and bootees version. This may not seem like much until you are lined up at check in with a shed load of photo gear!

I used full foot fins once on a live aboard and hated every minute of it. The power of them just was not there against the currents etc.

Interesting, usually design being the same full foot fins are often believed to have more power than there equivalent. This may be out of date of course but it is important to compare like with like and different kicking styles heavily bias folks toward a particular design. Else why would there be so many on the market?

Because they are lighter, cheaper, less hassle when packing, no need for boots?
