Iíve noticed that, I always think it looks like a Elizabethan ruff.

Iíll see if my LDS has some I can go try on (in a socially distances, aseptic manner, of course)

It get's tucked everytime, never had it come out, never had a cold neck. Maybe I wouldn't have one without the bib, but I do it out of habit now.

Once the 'ruff' is tucked into the drysuit neck seal cover, what happens when you turn your head? Does it become difficult to turn, or does the 'ruff' pop out?

I have used H1s with bibs for many years and a few different drysuits. I always tuck into the neckseal cover and haven't had one come out in over 1000 dives.

I prefer 3 to 5mm soft and flexible
The thicker huds don't seem to fit the head as good and you end up with a bubble in the top and a square head . And one you do get that fits will give your jaw a work out something you want to avoid . Small Bib works tucked in or not . Like all wet suit designs
Works best with a good fit . And the thicker you go the harder it is to get a good fit. And not have the killer jaw work out . So a bit of a compromise is needed . Eneything with a dump on top id disregard asap. As its a good sign of a shit fit.

3mm is my preferred Hud. Winter or summer.

5mm max if you must . All personal preference.

Interesting with the bubble-head look. When the mask's tucked under the hood the bubbles go around the back of your head giving that authentic bubble lump.

Or you could have the mask strap over the hud and if you happen to get some trapped air just run your hand over the offending bubble and push it out the front. Not seen that strap under hud nuggit for a v long time even then not often .

Or just get a fancy dump valve fitted pass for a proper tit head then . Lol
