Hello and welcome to our community! Is this your first visit?
Does anyone have the breakdown of the in water skills you have to do for the BSAC ADP? The BSAC course overview is somewhat lacking in detail...
Looking to compare and contrast
For ADP the in warter skills are quite limited.
The only real skills are a mid warter DSMB deployment and a gas switch.
You have to do Out of Gas drills as well but it's just hovering there's no gas share assents.

I thought it included mask drills, removing/swapping stage etc? that not the case?
You've got three elements, confined water, Open Water dive 1 and Open Water Dive 2
Reason I mention this is that while confined can be done in a pool as long as conditions allow and it's not beyond 10m
it can be done in open water, so better to assume it is and any list of skill is inclusive of the 'confined' bit as well.
Not in any specific order and expect these to be done more than once
Weight trim & buoyancy check
Centre of gravity Pivots
Increment Ascent (usually 1m)
Static and Dynamic reg switching
Simulated Deco stop
Simulated deco-gas loss
Use of both alternates of DS or wing for buoyancy
Prerec is Gold Standard for Buoyancy and at least Sport Diver level, so often basic skills are also thrown in to check
one of the instructors I was looking at doing this was was talking about more skills than those listed - so interesting to see its at the simpler end of the scale...
Fin pivots? Isn’t that a bit basic for something that relies on sorted buoyancy? Not a dig, a question.
I was thinking the same...I’ve got black B&T and fin pivots prove nothing in terms of either buoyancy or trim...
Are BSAC ADP and TDI ANDP equivalents in terms of the standards and techniques taught? For example the NoTox switching drills
Nope, BSAC teach you to swap your own gas, so self checking it.

ADP also doesn't teach many new techniques, so there's no stage swapping, valve drills, mask switching or buddy breathing of deco gas.
The skills from the Instructor Manual
There are no fin pivots!
To attend the course a diver must already be gold buoyancy and trim or better.
Therefore, if buoyancy and trim training is required they're probably going to fail...
