    Swanage Pier Parking?

What’s it like these days after the pier works? Still need to sleep in the car as I queue up, before it opens?

Yes, unless you like getting up early. We sleep in the car park on the hill above which is nice and quiet, then roll down early.

Not been to Swanage in a couple of years and am planning a trip. Wasn't aware of pier works. Parking on the pier even more limited now then?

It was almost over when we went earlier in the year, so hopefully OK by now.

Pier works are all finished and it looks lovely. The cafe on the pier has been renovated and looks nice.

Just as much parking on the pier as there used to be (maybe 2 fewer as the cafe sticks out a bit further)

A couple of our club got there early (7am) last week and were parked next to the cafe. They said I'd just missed the last space when I turned up at 9am.

If you miss the spaces on the pier, you can drop your kit off, then park in the Broad road car park just above the sailing club - there's usually a fair few spaces there until late morning(£8 for all day).

A couple of our club found parking a problem by 11-12am. They only just made the boat in time for ropes off. One did say there was some free parking further up the hill in Durlstone Rd, about 5 minutes walk.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.
