Lemon sole - Microstomus kitt - my favourite flatfish because it rears up and pounces on things!
Definitely a plaice ... look carefully

Unfortunately my laptop crashed just as I was about to hit send, so I'll start again...
    I am looking carefully.
Here is a lemon sole https://adlayasanimals.wordpress.com...rostomus-kitt/
and here is a plaice https://www.alamy.com/european-plaic...283519389.html
Images just chosen because the fish are facing roughly the same way. Both are right eyed flatfish and the picture seems to be left eyed, but I'm happy to believe either the image was flipped or it's one of the 'exception that proves the rule' individuals.

Also the fish in question is climbing about on some wreckage as lemon sole tend to do, plaice prefer to stay on sediment bottoms.

I am just sitting back and watching this one. Someone has questioned Dawn about marine identification! I hate to compliment her twice in one week but I have great respect for her knowledge on this subject. I hope Graham_hk can justify his statement.
By the way, they both taste great grilled and served with beurre blanc or with Polish sauce.

    Paul.
If God had meant us to breathe underwater, he would have given us larger bank balances.
Human beings were invented by water as a means of moving itself from one place to another.

I chose Plaice from Paul Naylor's book because of the fin sticking up but the blotches mean it could be a Lemon Sole.
The image has not been rotated or flipped in any way
