    What Suit El Gouna September

I have booked my first non-winter warm water dive trip and would like some advice on what suit to take (or even buy).

I have a ScubaPro EverFlex 5/4mm which I have used for my last two February trips and Malta in May, this has been water temperatures of about 23c down to 17c and I have always been warm enough that the dives have been limited by air.

It looks like the water temperature is likely to 27c to 28c, will I be too warm (not something I have ever experience due to most of my diving being UK), and if so do you think a LavaCore type suit would be enough.

My trip to Truk/Chuk in a few years should be the same type of water temperature so I guess I am asking for that too.

A couple of folk on the last liveaboard I was on were diving 7mm in 25C water. They never complained about being too hot. I was in a 5mm full suit but therewere a couple of folk in shorts and rash vest as well. If you do get too hot in a thicker suit just open the neck to flush it a bit. Predive, I would just make sure I had a hose nearby or a glass or 2 of water to pour down the inside if I got too hot.

    I'd go with a 3mm suit.
Not really to keep warm but to act as sun protection.

Are you here between 19th and 27th September? It will be the third El Gouna Film Festival. Last year, we had the likes of Clive Owen, Sylvester Stallone, Owen Wilson, etc. etc. wandering around town

    Almost I am there 18th to 25th.

    Will have to investigate that.

My wife is now unhappy as she doesn't have enough holiday time to come (although she did the last 2 Februarys)
