Woz is still around, just not posting so actively on here. I saw him diving a couple of weeks ago.

Please don't. Your tone is fine, but there is a point that when dealing with a spreadsheet to calculate deco, should we trust what appears to be at first glance, "just a couple of guys" off the internet.

I lack the trimix skill's and qualifications to know if the Calcs are good. I just have a miss-spent youth that means I know my way around an Excel sheet etc. as Adrian picked up on I'm the most likely person to spot my own error! Which is both good and bad...

Thanks, for the update on Woz. Nick.

If anyone wants me to take some screen shots of the spreadsheet I can. I could also with Permission of xjjx pull out the VB into a text file for other like minded folk who have more time on the forum's to review as well, it is his work, he did not password protect the VB module so I didn't need to break in

To be honest most of us that would enjoy that kind of spreadsheet are geeky enough to check it out safely ourselves

      Have fun and safe diving

As a long standing member of this forum and a VBA geek, I've had a look at the code and I agree with Matt that it is very well written and well commented. I've haven't had the chance to study it in detail but I can confirm that Kaspersky can't find anything untoward in it.

Matt, no need to lurk and I'm not suggesting that you are a sock puppet. Just pointing out the humour in the situation.

I understand, it is hard to know anyone from behind a keyboard, and I understand the humour too, from a relatively unknown chap, well I guess I can fix that and chat more often.

Guess I need a drysuit, Reg, BCD(Wing), Fins, Mask. (Lobster hook aka snorkel - maybe not) some lead and a belt. then to do what this forum is actualy about dive!!

So basically dependent on your mood and our mood, level of hydration, intoxication or social interaction from any one moment to the next you can:-

              Go stuff yourself
              take a running jump
              sod off
              come back
              welcome
              goodbye
              hello
              whinge
              stop whinging
              well done
              congratulations
              don't care
              can't be arsed
              ooh look, excited

and so on and so on and so on. Moods here change like the weather.............

ROFL Taz, yes the more things change the more they stay the same I'm old enough to be a refugee from YD so I know it well also as a diver we have to have a sense of humour about weekends away in neoprene

I fond this forum and a happy to be back in a dive forum and maybe if I can ever scrape some money togther I can get some kit, paying lawyers and Ex are not leaving any left over at the moment.

To protect yourself you can do one of three things: (1) run your anti-virus against the file and/or (2) if you know VBA, open Excel, turn off automatic running of Macros, and browse the code for malicious statements or (3) have a friend run it and see if he complains.

A new version of the Dive Tissue Compartment Excel spreadsheet is available on Scubaboard.com (you don't need to be a member).

This minor revision fixes the bad %AoM when the TC gas is Both and Main1 or Main2 gas had no helium or nitrogen. Changed Ceil to display in tenths when Metric units are selected. Fixed going on dDeco2 when the previous segment was not a constant depth. Eliminated an extra segment when the depth equals the SS/Deco ascent depth. Fixed switching to the main2 gas even when the depth was not deeper than the Main1 gasses MOD. Created ALLOW_REVERSE_GF in program constants to switch GFLo and GFHi (ex. GF: 80/50).

To get it go to Scubaboard.com
                      Go to the Community
                      Go to the Advanced forum
Find the thread "Dive Calculation Spreadsheet"
                      Click on the link dive_062819_v26_1.xls

This will take you to a hosting site where you can download the file.

While working with the ss I found a serious bug. I thought I should make the corrected ss available immediately. You can get it on Scubaboard.com. The file name is: dive_062919_v26_2.xls.

This is another revision that fixes applying the units multiplier twice for TC1 when metric units were selected. This resulted in too much deco. Interestingly, this error had little effect for deeper dives so it went unnoticed by me. Also fixed the both gas CTC highlight color when Main2 gas had N2 and He with O2 equal to 0. It used to display purple highlights with helium in Main2 but that gas was ignored because the O2 was 0. Now the highlight displays in blue for N2 only.

As an electrician and a tech phobe I can honestly say none of this means anything to me..

But loads of respect for learning it, it sounds like a complete different language 👍

Strangely I enjoyed reading it without really understanding it

Thanks rockystock1. Yeah, my post won't make much sense until you work with the ss itself. The dive_help sheet explains it all.

Thanks Bottlemaker, I didnt remember they had a rib, maybe I'll try and pop down even though beached through no kit! (That is solvable if I ever have any cash after getting Divorced!) Will be nice to socialise with fellow divers though I do a little here to.

Enough Deveation from the Thread, looks like I need the next version of the file from xjjx

I posted a new major revision on Scubaboard. The file name is: dive_070919_v27_0.xls. See the earlier post for directions to download.

Many thanks to CandiveOz for his suggestions. This version adds a choice to display tissue pressures as a % of ambient or m-value pressure. Corrected some bad values for the Buhlmann A, B, and C table a coefficients for nitrogen and helium. Added the capability to use Buhlmann slopes with the DSAT table. Changed the segment designations from Con to Level and ConDs to Dstop. Added 0 to RQ as a means to disable the substraction of water vapor pressure from the tissue compartment calculations. Added automatic unit conversion for depths, descent and ascent rates, ss/deco ascent rate, altitude, SAC rate, stop interval, last stop depth, and switch depth. Changed the DSAT slope. Added a choice to display the gas density in the ICD column.
