Money no object: which umbilical torch?
Currently have a LfM NW7 which I'm pretty happy with. However it looks like the cable or connections are beginning to fail and I'm thoroughly pissed off with being ignored by their useless service department.
I really like having a really bright wide (70 degree, 3600 lumen) beam for rummaging around in confined spaces or GoPro videos/photos, and the narrow (6 degree, 1200 lumen) signalling beam for general purpose diving. Would be nice to be able to turn it down for clear water overhead.
I've used a Halcyon Focus (v1) and despise that stupid Goodman handle. Not very bright for wide beam. Good spread of light with the Fresnel lens. Battery seems small and a sod to unscrew. Crap switch.
Have seen the Light Monkey focussable torch, but not impressed with the beam spread. Can't help think that the H fresnel lens is much better. Love the LM batteries.
So if money's no object, what's the best diving torch available?
Thoughts on Ammonite? Finn Sub? Anchor dive torches?

Is the Focus available with an EO connector?
EDIT: Yes it is.
But crikey, blimey. It's a bit pricey...

Two grand and the manufacturer can't arsed to put any useful information on their website about the beam it emits.

Got one, ridiculous amount of light, can't quite say how focused the beam is but it's no light saber.. battery big and heavy 24v, won't be hanging off your hip

Does it do "wide" and "narrow" beams?
Does it come in an E/O cord version?
Is it "massive" on the hand, compared with other common torches?
What's it like in an overhead environment such as min, shipwreck or cave? Is it OK for signaling?
Any idea what the Light Emitting Diode type is? XML or other?
Any problems encountered?
Is there a waist belt mounting on the battery? Where do you mount it?
So many questions! So little information available...

I would think carefully about an e/o with no on/off

Halcyon Focus 2 - hands down the best for UK murky waters and OH environments with adjustable beam - added a proper goodman handle to it
Ammonite Helios - nice but better for clear water, love it for the Mexican caves, works well with the razor helmet mount if you want to clip it to your helmet.
Finnsubb 2000 long - similar to the Helios but not as powerful.
LFM 4Tec - okay but not as good as any of the above
My mate dives with a DSLM and it looks pretty good, alot cheaper than Halcyon, I have considered Light dude and Gralmarine.

How bright is it on the wide setting compared with a NW7? Can you use it for (GoPro) videos?
How long does the tiny battery last? Is the version two battery just as difficult to remove as the first version?
Are bigger batteries available -- aside from opting for the ridiculously expensive E/O connector?
Does the switch on the V2 work, compared with that exceedingly fiddly v1 switch (obviously designed by someone who doesn't wear thick dry gloves)?
Light Monkey variable focus...
How does the beam compare with the Halcyon Focus2? Should be considerably brighter. Does it work for GoPro videos on the wide setting?
