    Holme Bank Mine Circuit

I am planning a return trip to the mine for some practice and sight seeing, mostly I was wearing a mask cover on the course inevitably and didn't get to be a tourist obviously.

We stayed on the mainline from the pump base and maybe went 130-150m max. Looking at old surveys though and maps it looks as if a circuit is possible, from Pump Base to Arch Base and back, potentially via Pits base.

This would be something to build up to over a few dives/trips but its only 45 mins away so easy enough to do luckily for me.

There's a circuit, out from the middle base, turn left down the main tunnel, then jump left which comes out near the middle base.

Thanks Wibs, this seems to show more circuit options:

Depending on how comfortable you are there/familiar with the place of course, but fwiw: we did a dive there a little while back and just followed every T in every direction (on 2x12L and had bags of gas left).
Boot passage (the one with the boots in it!) looked like the nicest option for doing a circuit.

Holme Bank is tiny in comparison to most other places.. 90% of the time there is air above you in most of the channels.. IIRC at the end of each line there is an exit to air and a dry walk should you need it to get to the carpet exit.

This book has a plan for Holme Bank and other mines in the UK if you're looking for a solid source of info.

Anyone want to take a look at Holme Bank with me sometime in November/December? Or even in the new year? I fancy hiding unerground as it gets wetter / windier / colder up top... like lots of others, ive been through it blindfolded a lot and would enjoy a relaxed swim around instead!

If you don't already know about UKMC (though most active on facebook), worth getting in touch as there's a bunch of us on there that visit HB from time to time. UKMC can also help sort out your third party liability insurance (the landowner requires that you have some to dive there).
