    Yes exactly that.

The only realistic place for a flowstop on open circuit is the secondary inflator hose on a twin-bladder wing.

    Not quite.

My ADV has one. It was designed with one and it is a good idea.
My OCB has one. It is closed on the surface in case some clown (again) decides to sit on it and purge my diluent.
Pre-dive checks include both these being being opened.

My deco mix has one too. Any clue to differentiate between a bottle 15/55 and one of 70% seems a good idea.

Neither of those things relate to open circuit

I'm unconvinced on that one. I think off but pressurised with a laccy band over the mouthpiece is a better option.

I'll concede on the OPV but the OCB feels very open circuit to me. The bubbles offer a noisy clue!

Is it? Maybe for you it is.

I made my choice because I find it a better option for me. I found knocking the pressurised second stage resulted in more first stage servicing.

If this is genuinely being marketed as an OC device then to need one the diver must be very inexperienced, if they are that inexperienced i cant believe handing them a variable/failure point/task loading is in any way a good idea.

A free flow really isnt a big deal if you are shallow, if you are not shallow then you really should have the skills to solve it.

    Baffled.
