Anyone know of any spring fin straps that fit Mares Quattros and don't chew up the plastic lugs?

These any good??. I have had an identical set on a pair of quattrros for 10 years. Never had any problems with the fin posts!! You will ned to ope the shackle up, then nip it back around the post before the bolt goes in!Last edited by Paul Evans; 25-02-2019, 12:28 PM.“Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.†— Mark TwainComment

I've got some which clip into the standard fin buckles - can't remember the make but they are a bit like these

Years ago I bought some made by Manta Industries. They weren’t cheap but we’re good quality. These look like them;

I have Mares Quattro Excel fins and one of the original bungee straps broke without warning on the first dive of a holiday.
I replaced them with Mares XR Spring Straps for TEC Fins, been fine for me.
I have size 10 feet and fitted XL straps.

I notice that you have size 10 feet. My feet are really large, so it could be that the springs straps are getting a good stretch and that's ripping the plastic bits.Last edited by t0by; 26-02-2019, 08:40 AM.Comment

What have you been doing with them?! I have been using Northern Diver's equivalents for 10 years on my Quattros and the lugs are still fine. If you want to try something a bit different, MrsT uses Mares' own rubber tube style ones and I've used a pair of Scubapro Seawing Nova straps on some other fins; both are fine and use plastic buckles, so the lugs won't get damaged.The views expressed are my own, worth what you've paid for them, are not on behalf of anyone else and not those of any company I worked for etc.Comment

On my old fins, they didn't actually break but they chewed up the lugs a lot and the straps kept falling offSee http://www.scuba-addict.co.uk/ for trip reports including Grand Cayman, Tulum and the PhilippinesComment
