    Cowspiracy on Netflix

I have just been made to watch “Cowspiracy” by my daughter. Sadly I suspect that my onsumption of beef is about to` take a downward turn - a particular pity as I really like beef. A more vegetarian diet beckons, not totally though.

    Definitely thought provoking.

Dispatches done quite a balanced programme the other night on the vegan movement.

Personally I have cut my meat consumption right down. I wish I hadn’t been brought up on meat and dairy. I really struggle cutting it out completely.

Going vegan is definitely growing in popularity but even if going vegan is a step too far, the mere fact people are aware of their impact and cutting down has to be a good thing.

I only eat meet I have shot myself at home so duck rabbit and venison

I find it amusing when Tesco meet eaters suggest I am a bad person for hunting and then contribute to the whole meet and dairy destruction of the earth and animal cruelty thing

Watched it last night and found it very interesting and informative, should be required viewing at secondary schools IMHO.

I have not eaten meat for 16 yrs, no fish for 12 months and 2 days vegan for 6 months, but going to reduce dairy even further for sure.

We generally only eat meat from animals I have shot. Rabbit, hare, goat, venison, turkey and duck. Cooking game meats well can be a challenge because of the lack of fat, and sometimes strong flavours, but it generally comes out well. All of those animals are pest animals in NZ (apart from duck), so shooting them is considered good for the environment. Having said that, the majority of our protein intake is from fish which I catch.

It is not a meal unless it has at least 1 dead animal in it!

I like long pig. Hard to find free range though. So much of it is force fed, fatty and live in high occupancy living conditions.

I noticed Divemouse liked this post. Perhaps she can provide you with a regular supply.
There again, I hear there is plenty off the south coast these days.

There's plenty round here as well. Was just looking at a local FB group and discovered that there was a huge missing person hunt in our village last summer which culminated in a corpse found in the field opposite our house. I must have been out for the day.
Definitely don't doubt Dawn - not if you value your life
