I've had a break in my harness, for years, its never given me an issue. In theory, I don't need it, but I find it far more convenient.

We even played the game with an Aquazepp, how many diver could I tow with the harness undone. All we managed to do was crack the plastic my my CCR , where it was bolted to the backplate.

No problem dekitting, but not much buoyancy so needs clipping to the RIB before removing. I have dived exclusively with a harness for 6 or 7 years, so a couple of hundred RIB dives.

It shows that your set up is suboptimal
and that means you can't dive for shit.

Out of interest, how many people have had a harness clip break under water? If it did, what would be the main issue?

Underwater it's under no tension at all, I doubt you'd even notice.

I once didn't do mine up properly and it came undone as I was stepping over the gunnel, onto a wobbly wooden step wearing flip flops. It was mildly irritating.

Nothing. It's just you probably don't need to, so why bother?! It is usually (though not always) a work-around solution to a problem that can be better solved other ways.

Nope and no, though it would make one shoulder strap loose and wobbly with my setup, so if I was carrying a stage or pony, that would be annoying.

The metal ones can't break nor unthread without positive action. Easy to unclip when needed. Also smaller and lower profile than the massive plastic ones.
