Cheap Lights to use with Go Pro ?

I've read what I can (here and elsewhere) but am still somewhat bewildered and hoping for an easy answer from someone who has been down this route recently

I've got a Go Pro (Hero 3+ black) and I can make a tray with arms easily enough

I just want to get some half decent video as a keepsake / for fun

    Maybe the odd still

I don't want to spend a lot, and it won't be going deep

I want to avoid chinese junk that goes in the bin quickly, but am not averse at all to chinese stuff that is broadly fit for purpose, maybe with a bit of cleaning up threads, better o rings or whatever

I don't want 'the best' or anything close - just something that works reasonably well

I need to know where to get batteries from to avoid the rubbish too but keeping budget to 'have a go at that' levels

    Any help please ?

I got some from Amazon, attached to helmet and get pretty good video (by my standards) with no wash out blue/green for close to medium distance. That is no filters and on a muvi k2. I have a Hollis m3 with the built in camera attachment. As streamlined as possible and always looking where I am!

The cheapo Chinese gopro lights off ebay work well enough and are good to 50m+ (despite what it says on the tin) if you simply want "this is what I saw"

    This one

    https://www.ebay.com/bhp/gopro-light

    for example

This is what i was talking about above, had one for a year and the second for 9 months, look brand new inspite of what i put them through and tested to 102m - worked perfectly!

I've just bought a couple of these, I'll find out in a couple of weeks whether they do the job.

I started using THESE and have had them to 610' without issue. I have a pair of them mounted to my helmet with the GoPro between them.

I got a pair of the above, very bright and a good wide beam. The O rings that come with it are crap silicone ones which get chewed up pretty quickly but can be replaced with decent rubber ones. There are similar ones for sale on AliExpress with differing prices. Have had these to 50m and they're still working.
