The wreck in gozo is not really intact. It's go no wood left

However the black sea one is all there and almost entirely boat shaped still.

    Both are remarkable discoveries though.

The only way to dive it is as part of the Malta Uni research team and yes there would be huge fines if anyone dived it without permission

Sorry John but Timmy Gambin told me a few weeks ago that he was hopeful that as much as 2/3rds of the timber was still intact under the silt. Do you know something he doesn't? I can only report what I've been told, it's too deep for me.

    Hi Pete,

No, I don't know. Only my experience of diving similar era wrecks in the med. No wood remains above the seabed generally. The one in the black sea is basically complete, and still has coils of rope on the gunwhals.

    Thanks
    John
